Calling any South Florida Largemouth Bass Experts!?

Small Lake is in Dade County at an apartment complex..A lot of weeds on one side, wood cover and Lillie Pads on another. One end is very clear, and the other end is stained. Very deep lake, I have seen Tarpon in it too, caught several nice sized peacocks. Are there crawfish in S. Florida? wondering if A good crawfish imitation would work for largemouth. So far,the only thing I can catch a largemouth bass on is a 10 inch plastic worm, purple, or black only..Catch a lot of peacocks on plugs etc, but they only bite when it's hot...Need some advice from a S. Florida Bass expert!

Try a big live shiner under a cork! Try a jig n pig(blue/black,brown/blk with jumbo pork frog) with rattles. If those bass are picking up a worm they should slam a J/P!

Give it a try with abig bulky topwater bait, early first light then during heat of the day right next or in heavy cover then again at dark!

JuztMy 2cents!

I fished the ponds like this when I was maintenance at Island house condos down in Ft Pierce,Fl.
Reply:I am no expert but a bass is a bass whether it is in Florida or Connecticut, Japan or Spain. They will hit crawdad lures anywhere in the world, even in waters void of crawdad. Sorry, wish I could help you but I only fish for Florida Bass out West from your location or South in Mexico.

Surely someone from Florida will be on before too long. Have you tried a Florida rigged Buzzfrog in and around the pads? Might be the ticket man.

Fish on!
