WHat kind of behavior is this? Sociopathic or psychotic?

What kind of person is this?

One of our neighbors has been creating havoc in our complex. Not in the normal rowdy way but by attempting to spread rumors about several other home owners. He has approached our neighbors on misc occasions including myself until recently. I asked him to leave me alone and not bother me with idol gossip.. now I am on his shiiiiiit list. He has commented to people that I am a liar, and have no integrity. He made a comment about me in front of me to another neighbor. The neighbor just stood there in silence.... I opted to threaten the unstable Fred with a law suit for harassement, made sure the neighbor heard that well and clear so he could be a witness. I had to block emails ect. I am not the only one that this man had done this too.

Is this sociapathic? Or Psychotic? I have seen the man from time to time on his outside balcony smoking weed... could the drugs be making him this unstable?

Just curioius.

WHat kind of behavior is this? Sociopathic or psychotic?
Who's to say he's only smoking weed? He could be doing other drugs. Which would make him someone I would report to the police. They would probably stake out his place and bust him sooner or later.

But if he is doing other drugs, I would stay out of his way.
Reply:it's not either, he's just bitter at the world. The weed would calm him down not rile him up so that's not making him unstable.
Reply:It's neither sociopath nor psychotic. I don't mean to be a wet blanket but you should look up what those words really mean. Strict guidelines must be adhered to in order to diagnose mental illness, not a whim. To be an even wetter blanket, people who truly do have such conditions suffer horribly- as do their families. People shouldn't throw around such terms lightly.

To address your question, though, the guy sounds like he could be a card-carrying shite-stirrer. You know, somebody who loves the "excitement" of chaos and strife.... so much that he's willing to stir up all kinds of crap if he has to.

I hate it for you- people like that do NOT change and make life for everyone around them miserable. All you can do is try your best to avoid him. You've got my sympathy for sure. :(
Reply:This is the kind of weirdo who you should stay far away from. If you see him talking to someone else, don't go up to them until he leaves the area. You can talk to some of the people he bad mouthed to you about and see how much of a menace he is to neighborhood harmony. If you live in an apartment, you can tell the management. If you are in your own home, you will have a very hard time trying to stop him.

It sounds like being a weenie, but it would be better to say you don't have time to talk than to tell the guy to shut up and go away, especially when you knew from experience that he would add you to his sh-- list.

You could report his weed smoking anonymously to the police, but be careful he doesn't connect that call to you. He doesn't fit the definition of psychotic or sociopathic by what he has done so far. He may just be an out of control doper who like to stir things up and hurt people.
Reply:Have you talked to the manager about how this man is to you

and perhaps other tenants. Sounds like he has a bullying

nature and is miserable with himself and the world. Whether

or not he is using drugs or smoking, this should be reported

so that the manager can keep an eye on him. If he is into

drugs, the manager can easily find a way to evict him without

even an excuse. Just a 30 day notice. I know, as we have

had a few people evicted for using meth in our complex. And

they also were suspected of selling it also. Too much traffic

going in and out of certain apts, that were reported by ob-

servant tenants.
