my best friend

mum has died yet he hasnt spoken

but yet he hasnt spoken about it to me his other best friend or his dad

its odd because he normally talks to me about everything

he constantly smokes weed and is always drinking

and says he does it coz it helps clear his head

is there a way i could get him to talk to me

If his mom just died he is going through a difficult time right now and just doesn't know how to handle everything. You need to be his friend more then ever now and help him get through this so he doesn't ruin his life by drinking and smoking pot. You need to let him know that you are concerned and that you know he is going through a difficult time right now but you really want to help him. Give him some time to think things out and let him know that you are there to listen if he wants to talk about it. Hope this helps and good luck to the both of you.
